Elizabeth da Costa is an experienced model, actress, singer and personal trainer. At a young age she trained with Herman’s Institute of modeling in Caracas, Venezuela. She was a contestant in the pageant Reyna de la Academia Militar de Venezuela. She continued modeling and was featured in fashion shows for Nordstrom, Macy’s, Joseph Domingo, Fast Pass, San Francisco Fashion Forum & Louise Sallinger Academy of Fashion as well as numerous hair shows for companies like Mazzoli, Paul Mitchell, Wella, Nioxin, Lanza and others. Through her experience in modeling she has developed a great appreciation for fashion styles and trends.
While in Venezuela, Elizabeth studied acting under the tutelage of the acclaimed actress Isabel Ungria. She appeared in internationally televised “telenovelas” for major Television Networks in Venezuela such as RCTV, Venevision & Marte TV. Elizabeth had recurring roles in “Sirena”, “Pedacito de Cielo” and “Peligrosa”. She continued to study acting at De Anza College with Hester Schell, president of the Bay Area Casting News as well as privately with Casting Director Barbara
Titus. While at DeAnza she starred in the award winning short film “Dean: Reel to Reel” where she got the opportunity to portray Pier Angeli; James Dean’s true love. She continues her work on film and was featured in the independent movies such as “Surge of Power” as Professor Beatrice. Currently she can be seen playing the role of Deanna in the romantic comedy “Pooltime” from director Michael Donahue and its upcoming sequel “Pizzatime” which is scheduled to begin
filming this summer. She has stage experience in both acting and singing in musical theater with North Bay Rep, playing parts in their rendition of “The Wizard of Oz”, “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory” and “Lil’ Abner”. Recently Elizabeth was in “Dick & Don’s Fabulous 60′s” performing as the lead singer of The Angels and as Mama Cass from group The Mamas & the Papas.
At DeAnza College she majored in Film and Television Production. As an actress she felt it was just as important to understand how everything worked behind the scenes and enjoyed the “hands on” approach. She worked on “Deal or No Deal”, “the Drew Carey Green Screen Show”, “Pyramid” hosted by Donny Osmond, “Paradise Hotel” and was Assistant Director on films such as “Dead Man’s Hand” and “The Inner Circle” to name a few. She is scheduled to be First Assistant Director on another film from Elusive Entertainment later on this year.
She always had an affinity to fitness. Elizabeth began as a swimming instructor and loves to see her students blossom as they discover the joys of swimming. Later she furthered her career by becoming a personal trainer for Bally Total Fitness in West Los Angeles, achieving certification from AFAA, AAIA, kickboxing, stretching and Power Plates ®. She is a firm believer in the holistic approach; mind, body and soul. After many seminars she has attended about relationships and understanding and appreciating men, has enabled her to be more than a fitness coach, but also “counselor” to her clients.
Ms. da Costa has experience with public relations and worked as a model/spokesperson for many companies in Venezuela, Aruba and the US both including Revlon, Heinz, Mattel, FIAT, CANTV, Toyota, Web TV, Cingular Wireless, Axe, Self Magazine and more. Her promotional work with the Marlboro team during the GT of the Americas spiked her interest in Formula One racing. Elizabeth is also an avid fanatic of Major League Baseball.
